DynaSamp

The most accurate high pressure oil and fluid sampler on the market

The DynaSamp fluid sampler is designed to draw representative oil and fluid samples during operation in high-pressure fluid systems. A representative sample is needed for the results obtained from the oil and fluid analyses to be realistic and useful, and therefor very important during condition monitoring of an oil and fluid system.
The DynaSamp unique design will also provide a safe way to extract the sample, and is repeatable independent on the person taking the sample.
The DynaSamp oil and fluid sampling system have been installed in more than 1500 systems and is capable of withstanding pressures up to 700 bar and temperatures up to 280 C.

Highlights

Offshore and ship installations are often located in harsh environments, making preventive maintenance an essence. DynaSamp can help in the prediction of system breakdowns. The DynaSamp fluid sampler/injector comes in a range of models and can be custom made to almost any requirements. From the standard manually operated DynaSamp to the large format wafer sampler.

Safe, Repeatable, Versatile and Easy

DynaSamp has a unique design where a small resistance valve creates turbulence and mixing of particles. A representative cross-section of the fluid flow is directed into the sample bottle.

There are no physical restrictions that trap metal or hardened particles, and no big pressure differentials that break soft or microbiological contaminants. Surplus oil is directed back into the flow. By leaving the shut-off valves open for 5-15 minutes during machine operation, a representative sample is ensured.

Representative Samples

The DynaSamp is designed to draw representative, in-line fluid samples under full machine operation and pressurized operational conditions from large machine installations. Therefore, no matter the superiority of the laboratory equipment, the fluid analysis performed will only reflect the condition of the sample itself and not the system. The sampler is designed to achieve condition based maintenance based on wear debris analysis or taking safe and secure samples from a process or a bunker line in a closed loop sampling system. To achieve condition based maintenance based on wear debris analysis, the system is a must-have for any critical installation with fluids under pressure or high temperature.

DynaSamp Hardware Specifications

DynaSamp comes in two separate parts, connected through quick-connector couplings. The connector block is mounted in-line and comes in a wide array of sizes. The sampler unit is similar for all models, and can be moved from sample point to sample point. The aluminium model is certified for medium working pressure (up to 320 bar), while the stainless steel model is certified for high working pressure (up to 700 bar). Other  sizes and materials are available upon request. An intermediate block between the connector and the sampling part will extend the function into a DynaView online condition monitoring unit.

DynaSamp Applications

More than 1400 DynaSamp units are installed on various systems around the world. Typical applications include hydraulic power units for all industries, valve and pump systems on oil installations and ships, lubrication system in the process industry, thruster and winch systems on ships, steering gears on ships and turbine and generator systems in the power production industry.

DynaSamp Wafer Sampler

Large installation representative samples

The wafer fluid sampler is designed to draw representative, in-line fluid samples under full machine operation and pressurized operational conditions from large machine installations. The WaferSampler is a further development of the DynaSamp fluid systems for large fluid installations. To achieve condition based maintenance based on wear debris analysis, the system is a must-have for any critical installation with fluids under pressure or high temperature.

WaferSampler hardware specifications

The WaferSampler is designed with two parts, connected through couplings and ball valves. The connector block is mounted in-line between two ANSI flanges and comes in a wide array of sizes. The sampler unit is similar for all models, whilst the connector part can be tailor made for the application according to the customers specification.

The wafer flapper builds up a venturi function over the flapper, and at the back of the flappers an underpressure compared with the front, secure a ”drag” through the sampling bottle making representative samples over the whole section diameter of the pipeline.

OPERATING THE DYNASAMP

Most frequent questions and answers

When taking samples from fluid systems operating under pressurized conditions, sampling into open bottles and containers will generate aerosol drops and fine mist from the sampled fluid. Chemicals and hydrocarbons can be a health risk if inhaled by the operator. Another health risk is when the
operator is exposed to streams of high pressurized fluid, which can enter the body through the skin.

Common recommendation standards describing sampletaking, When taking samples from a hydraulic or lube installation, a bucket of oil should be flushed through the sampling point before sample taking. For a large installlation, it will be a large oil spill if the normal recommendations are followed. Sampling via the DynaSamp sampling system, oil spills are almost none existing

When fluid is passing trough the sampler during the sampling process, a bottle, when it´s installed in the sampler will be flushed by the media which is sampled. Buying clean certified bottles is therefore not neccessary. The content in the bottle will be exactely the same as the fluid which is contained in the system.
